Review: Terrapin Sour Tangie Bonus: Prime Wellness Chem de la Chem wax!

(Sativa)

A cross between East Coast Sour Diesel and Tangie. Very energizing but also relaxed and relieved my anxiety, probably due to the limonene content. It had a good taste and smelled of citrus. Citrus and sour strains are better sativas to consume if you have anxiety. Look for Limonene

Prime Wellness Chem de la Chem #2 Wax
(Hybrid)

This sativa dominant hybrid is a cross between Chemdog and I95.  According to their website, pheno #2 is the "fuel pheno". The terpenes in this are amazing. It's the perfect balance of relaxed and awake. Great for anxiety, stress, depression, and pain.

Review: Terrapin Ice Cream Cake

Another Terrapin flower that did not disappoint! Good for rest, relaxation, depression, stress, and anxiety. 1/8 for $45, pretty low in terps, but I still enjoyed it.

Review: Terrapin Hell's OG

I love Terrapin's products. The flower is consistently above average quality at lower-than-average prices. This eighth of flower was $55 and the double bear concentrate was $55 as well. I accidentally tossed the wax box out, so I don't have the exact information for you. I enjoy indicas and this was no exception. The terpenes are low, leaving it not having a strong smell, but the effects were very relaxing.

Pennsylvania Brands

Grassroots

Grassroots has some great quality flower. Their prices are average-high. They were founded in Illinois and own Herbology dispensaries. They were recently bought by Curaleaf for $875 million. They are one of my favorite brands just because they have some of the best quality and strains for me and they continue to produce consistent products, but I typically stay away from their concentrates due to their high price.

Prime Wellness

I recommend visiting their website. They have very good information regarding all of their strains and products. Their prices are a little better than other brands - a gram of concentrate is usually $60 vs all the other brands charge $70-$80/gram. They are another of my favorite brands!
_________________________________________

Terrapin

Hands down the best prices in PA. You will find people online making complaints about their carts being short, but I've never had a cart. Their flower and concentrates, on the other hand, are always the cheapest. I've never had flower or the double bear concentrates that weren't amazing!

Cresco
https://www.crescolabs.com
https://www.crescoyeltrah.com/ (For PA patients)

Cresco is an interesting company that originated in Chicago, IL. I actively watch their stocks, as they trade OTC* (over-the-counter in the US and on the CSE (Canadian Stock Exchange). They offer very good prices and here in Pennsylvania they sell out within literally seconds. I was the 2nd person in line when the dispensary opened and a concentrate I wanted was already sold out from online orders.

Rythm (GTI)

I enjoy Rythm's products, although they can be high in price. I would put their products on par with Prime Wellness, except their prices are higher. Rythm is a GTI brand. Green Thumb Industries started out in Chicago and can now be found in 12 states.

Liberty

Liberty originated in Washington, D.C. and is now in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. The only Liberty product I tried was an LLR (liquid live resin) cart of Chaos Kush. I really enjoyed it, I'm just not too interested in using cartridges and it has been months since I've seen their product available in my area. I haven't seen or heard complaints online though. Leave a comment if you have tried their stuff!

Moxie
PA provider of Moxie website: https://www.purepenn.com

Moxie is a California-based concentrate company. They produce strictly concentrates. Their prices are extremely high considering they are already an established brand in CA. They do seem to have really high-quality products, but $50 for a half gram of concentrate is too high. In CA you'll find half grams for $30. I would choose a $60/gram concentrate over Moxie's prices any day.

Ilera

Ilera has been providing low-quality products at premium prices. They have had issues with moldy products and seeds. I personally found 6 seeds in 1 gram. They offered an exchange at the dispensary but I had already tried some by then. I hear good things about their cartridges and concentrates, but I haven't tried them because of their price.

FarmaceuticalRx

Found in Ohio and PA, I've recently seen their products on shelves in my area, but the prices were too high to even consider purchasing. $60-$75 for a half gram of concentrate and $75/eighth for flower! The flower sold out quicker than I would have expected and I'm disappointed in people spending that much. Let it sit there for a day...maybe they will take a hint? We'll have to see what other dispensaries end up putting it up for.

gLeaf

New to PA as of this posting, only recently have we seen flower and concentrates for sale, but nothing near me. Prices seem average to high, but I've only seen good things.

Standard Farms

I can't find much about standard farms and I have not tried any of their products. I don't typically use anything other than flower/concentrates and according to their website, they only produce carts, disposables, capsules, and tinctures.

Pennsylvania Flower Strains & Pictures

I have tried several flower strains that I didn't keep the boxes for, so I will compile that list here with some basic information about each strain and what I thought.

Prime Wellness - Marie Laveau #19
(Indica)
pennsylvania medical marijuana,prime wellness,marie laveau,marie laveau strain,pa medical marijuana

Marie Laveau was the first strain by Prime Wellness that I tried. It was covered in trichomes! They claim its lineage is Big Poppa (Garlic) OG x Lashkargah White #91. Its main terpenes are Myrcene, Limonene, and Caryophyllene, making it good for anxiety, stress, depression, and insomnia. The flower quality was very good.

Grassroots - East Coast Sour Diesel
(Sativa)
pennsylvania medical marijuana, grassroots, east coast sour diesel, escd strain,pa medical marijuana

This Sativa will get you up and going. It is high in Limonene, Caryophyllene, and Myrcene. It will have you relaxed, yet social. If you tend to get anxiety when consuming sativas, this strain can help that with its Limonene content. Grassroots always has amazing flower, and this was great for me, as someone who gets anxious when using sativas.

Terrapin - GG #4
(Hybrid)
pennsylvania medical marijuana,terrapin,gg#4,gorilla glue,gorilla glue strain,original glue,pa medical marijuana

Formerly known as Gorilla Glue #4, Original Glue (or GG#4) is a cross between Chem’s SisterSour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. It is high in Caryophyllene, Limonene, and Myrcene, making this a great strain for resting and relaxing. I'm a huge fan of this strain and Terrapin did not disappoint! They seem to be the most affordable product you can buy at the moment. Terrapin in PA is typically $45 an eighth, compared to other growers at $60 an eighth. GG#4 is one of my favorite strains.

Grassroots - Sinderella
(Hybrid)
pennsylvania medical marijuana,grassroots,sinderella,sinderella strain,cinderella 99,pa medical marijuana
A cross between Cinderella 99, UpgraDDe, and Face Off OG. I have no idea what UpgraDDe is, or if that's even the correct spelling. If you go to Leafly they specify the strains making up Sinderella, but I'm unsure of the accuracy. It is high in Limonene, Carophyllene, Myrcene, and Humulene. It is good for relaxing and sleep and humulene is actually an appetite suppressant so you won't get the munchies like you would with other strains.
_____________________________________________________

Prime Wellness - LA Biker #2
(Hybrid)
pennsylvania medical marijuana,prime wellness,LA Biker,LA Biker strain,pa medical marijuana
LA Affair and Biker Kush make up this indica-leaning hybrid. I can't find much about LA Affair. You can read about this strain on Prime Wellness's website. The main terps found in this strain are Limonene, Myrcene, and Caryophyllene. It is good for relaxing, anxiety, and sleep.

Grassroots - Pootie Tang
(Hybrid)
pennsylvania medical marijuana, grassroots, pootie tang, pootie tang strain, pootie tang flower,pa medical marijuana
I'll say it again: I love Grassroots! This 2 gram bud in my eighth was beautiful. It's rumored to be a cross between LA Kush (Indica dominant hybrid) and Tang-Tang (Sativa dominant hybrid), but don't be fooled, this strain is said to be 70/30 sativa dominate. Caryophyllene, Pinene, and Myrcene are the top terps in this strain, leaving you relaxed, yet social. The high Pinene content will really energize you.  Despite being sativa dominant, I enjoyed this strain, although I mainly smoked this strain with some indica or hybrid concentrate to offset any anxiety that I may get.

Terrapin - Cherry Diesel
(Hybrid)
pennsylvania medical marijuana, terrapin, cherry diesel, cherry diesel strain, cherry diesel flower,pa medical marijuana
A cross between Cherry OG and Turbo Diesel, this strain is an indica dominant hybrid. It is high in Linalool and Caryophyllene, making this a great strain for treating anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, and pain. Linalool is a great terp, it is very common in nature and is already known to help with all of these ailments.

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday, I compiled the list of all medical marijuana programs in the United States. The list is posted above.

These are the things I plan to get on this blog for everyone:

  • A list of all growers and medical dispensaries in Pennsylvania
  • A full explanation of cannabinoids and terpenes and how these affect your body/mind
  • A guide to all the different consumable products (how to dose, how to consume, what to expect, etc)
  • Strain reviews of Pennsylvania medical marijuana strains, including pictures.
  • A list of rules for this blog to keep our comments free of spam and inappropriate content.
  • Affiliate programs tailored to your interests so I can pass discounts on to you at your favorite online retailers related to cannabis merchandise
  • Merchandise for you to purchase, designed by me! (redbubble)
For blog entries, I plan to do strain and product reviews; post cannabis-related news; answer questions regarding cannabis use, and even share the occasional stoner meme.

Today's Strains

Terrapin Ice Cream Cake (Indica)
Good for stress, anxiety, depression, pain, and insomnia

ice cream cake, pennsylvania medical marijuana, terrapin,pa medical marijuana, terrapin ice cream cake

I enjoy Terrapin flower and concentrates. They are much cheaper than other brands in Pennsylvania. You can tell the buds are put through a machine trimmer instead of being trimmed by hand, but it smokes well and is well cured. It doesn't have much of a smell besides being earthy and fresh smelling. I enjoyed the taste, but I tend to prefer buds that have a 'weedy', earthy taste. The flower was difficult to break by hand because it is dense and sticky.

Cannabinioids:
THC - .08%
THCA -  23.21%
CBG - .19%
CBGA - .84%
D8THC - .11%

Terpenes:
Limonene - .61%
Caryophyllene - .49%
Linalool - .18%

Cresco Sugar Plum Sunset Caviar (Indica)
Good for relaxation and insomnia

pennsylvania medical marijuana, cresco, sugar plum sunset, sugar plum sunset caviar,pa medical marijuana

Caviar is a bud of flower that is rolled in oil and then rolled in kief.
Unfortunately, I no longer have my label, so I don't have the exact specifications for this one. There are many different ways you can consume this product, I personally enjoy mixing it with flower.
